You do not have to be a blue water sailor or sailboat owner to enjoy this movie about the true story of a failed attempt to sail across the Pacific Ocean in a luxury sailboat. The film has high visual impact, as well as, an outstanding performance by Shailene Woodley; yet was a box office flop. I saw this film on the big screen in Denver, and you could count the number of people in the stadium seats on one hand. On the other hand, Denver is not known for having hordes of sailors. It's a beautiful sea movie with a very simple plot, don't expect anything astounding or particularly original, yet it captures the intense feeling and extreme danger of being alone on the high seas in a wounded sail boat with low chance of rescue.
